Getting into the Christmas spirit with our Festive Rare Fayre
We’re getting into the Christmas spirit here at Glen Garioch, and on Saturday 2nd December (10am – 4pm) we’ll once again open our doors for the Festive Rare Fayre.
With a range of food and craft stalls from local producers, you’ll discover unique pieces to help kick-start your Christmas shopping. Enjoy a delicious hot toddy and have a chat with our knowledgeable tour guides as you sample the honeyed sweetness and delicious creamy texture of the Glen Garioch range.
Our Festive Rare Fayre also marks the launch of a brand new expression, the Glen Garioch 2000. Distilled on 26th September 2000 right here at our distillery, cask 574 captures the essence of Christmas. Evoking notes of baked lemon meringue and sweet mincemeat pie, this whisky reveals flavours of heather blossom honey, brandy and brown sugar for a long memorable finish.
Aged exclusively in a single first fill ex-bourbon barrel, this unique dram comes from one cask and one cask only. Each bottle is individually numbered and personally signed by Glen Garioch’s very own legend, Distillery Manager Kenny ‘Digger’ Grant, helping mark the launch of our exclusive new tour - Legends of the Garioch Experience. Join us between 1-2pm to meet the legend himself and hear some of the stories from his time spent working at the distillery.
- The Stillmen’s Experience - 12pm – 1pm
Spend an hour with our experienced stillmen and discover the inner workings of the stillhouse. Includes a dram specially selected by our stillmen. £10.00 (over 18’s only).
- Old and Rare Tasting - 12pm – 1pm
Having worked at Glen Garioch for nearly 30 years, join Jane Cattanach in the magical surroundings of our 220 year old Kiln for a unique tasting of some our extremely rare vintage expressions. Includes three rare drams. £25.00 (over 18’s only).
- A Rare Pair - 1pm – 2pm
This 1 hour tasting experience will include whiskies from the Glen Garioch portfolio paired alongside four specially selected Scottish cheeses and chutneys. £40.00 (over 18’s only).
All stall holder fees will be donated to the Gordon Highlanders Museum, a place very close to Kenny’s heart after his time spent serving as a Gordon Highlander. Donations can also be made on the day, with a charity raffle offering a range of great prizes.
We’re looking forward to celebrating the festive season at the home of Glen Garioch Single Malt, so get into the spirit, don your Christmas jumpers and join us for a great day out at Glen Garioch's Festive Rare Fayre.
Entry is free and includes a dram, hot toddy or a soft drink.
