Burns Night with Meldrum House Hotel – Where Traditions Meet Taste

An Evening of Poetry, Whisky and Tradition

There are few occasions in the Scottish calendar as spirited and heartfelt as Burns Night. Friends near and far gather to celebrate the life and works of Robert Burns, Scotland’s beloved national poet. It’s a commemoration steeped in tradition with heartfelt toasts, stirring verses and a feast of haggis, neeps and tatties.

Beyond the theatre, Burns Night is about connection, and there’s no better accompaniment for this occasion than a dram of whisky. Like years previous, we will raise a glass to the Bard, bringing our rich Highland character to the festivities. From the first welcome dram to the final toast, our whisky will be at the heart of the evening, embodying the warmth and heritage of Scotland.

This January, we returned to Meldrum House Hotel, partnering with the award-winning country house to offer an evening of generous hospitality. Set in the heart of Aberdeenshire, just 10 minutes from our distillery doors, the evening of drinking and dining felt both authentic and indulgent.

Whisky Tasting – Hearty Highland Malts

This year’s celebration invited guests to a whisky tasting experience that captured the very spirit of the Highlands. We began with a warm welcome, a handcrafted cocktail featuring our flagship Founder’s Reserve. This full-bodied single malt brimmed with layers of orchard fruit, creamy vanilla and a gentle touch of spice. It was not only the star of the opening toast but also featured in the all-important signature whisky sauce.

For the toast itself, we unveiled something special: our 2013 Bourbon Cask edition. Decadent and rich, this distillery exclusive showcased the spirit character of Glen Garioch at a prime age.

What Happened on Burns Night 2026

On Saturday 24th January 2026, guests joined us for an unforgettable evening of Scottish tradition, food, and festivity.

Accompanied by a welcome dram, the night began in style with a spectacular pre dinner performance from the world-class Gordon School of Dance. Guests were treated to a sumptuous four-course Burns Supper, while a piper addressed the haggis.

We joined Norman for the traditional toast before Ceilidh Collective took us to the floor for a suitably lively evening of dancing.

A Night to Remember

This was truly an evening to be remembered.

If you missed it this time, make sure to join us next January - you won’t want to miss the magic of Burns Night 2027.
